Hon. Ken Hackett

United States Ambassador to the Holy See

The US Ambassador to the Holy See, the Hon. Ken Hackett, has spoken to my students both at The American University of Rome and at Temple University Rome Center on several occasions. Soon after he presented his credentials to Pope Francis, on November 25, 2013 he came to AUR to talk to the students about the nature of his diplomatic role and the learning process which he had gone through.  On October 6, 2014 he delivered a lecture to the Temple students on the history of diplomatic relations between the US Government and the Papal State on the occasion of the inauguration of a photo exhibit on "Celebrating 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations between the US and the Holy See".  On March 18, 2015 he accepted to participate in a panel which I organized at Temple Rome to discuss the already announced visit of Pope Francis to the US in September of that same year.  The panel also included the Temple University President Neil Theobald and Dr. Stefan Kampowski from the John Paul II Pontifical Institute.
