Soon after presenting his credentials to the President of the Italian Republic, on November 4, 2013, Amb. Phillips came to The American University of Rome to deliver his first official lecture as US Ambassador to Italy.  In the lecture he provided an overview of US-Italy relations and his personal experience in the new role that he was carrying out.
